About me

I am a Swiss long distance hiker, "ultralight aficionado" and friend to any dog.

In 2017 I started the Appalachian Trail. I failed hard but learned much about hiking and failure. The following year I started all over and successfully thru hiked it. I lost 70lbs of body weight in the process and much improved my health.

Long distance hiking has ever since been my passion. And I owe it and the thru hiking community so much.

I have since thru hiked the Pacific Crest Trail (2022) and several trails in Europe such as the Camino del Norte/Primitivo in Spain or the Tour du Mont Blanc in the European Alps.

It is my goal to share the beauty and wonder of life on trail, its humans and the craft of hiking on my journey to the Triple Crown and the miles beyond. I like to film my solo hikes and taking pictures. Writing about my experiences and lessons learned on >6k trail miles is fun. Often I end up focusing on the required state of mind, ultralight gear and the occasional ridiculousness of it all.
